Bhubaneswar: One can already feel the nip in the air and if the Regional Meteorological Centre is to be believed, Odisha will experience severe cold from November 5.
On Wednesday, Daringbadi recorded 13.0 degree Celsius, the lowest minimum temperature in the state, followed by Phulbani at 14.6 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature hovered around 20 degree Celsius and below at several places including Balasore and Cuttack at 20.4 degree Celsius, Jharsuguda (20.2), Balangir (20), Sambalpur (20), Talcher (19.6), Keonjhar (19), Sonepur (18.4), Bhawanipatna (17), Titilagarh (17.5) and Koraput at 16 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature of Odisha capital was recorded at 21 degree Celsius and this trend is expected to continue for the next 24 hours, the Met department said.
On the other hand, the cyclonic circulation over west central and adjoining areas of northwest Bay of Bengal and North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts between 3.1 km and 5.8 km mean sea level persists. This can trigger rain over central areas.
The fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during this period.
