Bhubaneswar: Amid the Omicron scare, at least nine girl students of a residential government-run school at Dasrathpur in Jajpur district have tested positive for Covid-19.
All are students of Class VI and IX. They have been kept in isolation on the school premises and undergoing treatment, informed the District Welfare Officer (DWO).
All 195 girl students of the school had undergone Covid-19 test. Nine have tested positive.
Last week, 33 students of a Plus-2 residential college at Kunjakanta in Dhenkanal tested positive for Covid-19.
On November 27, 25 students of a tribal residential girl’s school at Thakurmunda in Mayurbhanj district tested positive.
Before that, on November 23, 53 students of a Girl’s High School in Sundargarh district tested positive for Covid-19.
