COVID Scare At Odisha’s VIMSAR: Genome Sequencing Finds Delta Strain in 2 Samples

Sambalpur: Of the 21 samples of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla, which were sent for genome sequencing, two were found infected with the Delta variant of Covid-19, informed VIMSAR dean Prof Jayashree Dora.

At least 56 MBBS students at the institute have tested COVID positive.

The students showed symptoms of COVID after the annual function UTKARASH-2021 on November 13-14.
