Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, on Saturday, issued thunderstorm warning for 11 districts of Odisha between 2 pm and 8 pm on Saturday.
The districts are Balasore, Keonjhar, Balangir, Angul, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri and Boudh.
According to Indian Meteorological Centre (IMD) Bhubaneswar Regional Centre director Sarat Sahu, nor’wester rain is expected to hit most parts of the state within the next 24 hours. Latest doppler weather and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surfacing wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph may occur at most places.
Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail across the state till April 13, Sahu added.
