Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to provide land documents to people within an hour after they register their name in the sub-registrar office.
Informing the media here on Friday, additional chief secretary, Revenue, Pradipta Mohapatra said any person registering their name and details at the sub-registrar office, will be provided with the land documents by afternoon. The process will begin from April 1, he added.
He also said that the land-related cases pending under the Odisha Right to Public Service will be disposed of by February 5. The leave of the tehsildars with whom these cases are pending has been cancelled, he added.
Mohapatra further said that though several private colleges have been set up in the state, some colleges do not have the land records in their name. “Instructions have been given to these colleges to immediately register the land in their name,” he pointed out.
He said the state government will bring the Revenue department under Mo Sarkar programme on February 10 to make it more proactive and pro-people.
