Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly Speaker Pramila Mallik has sought the cooperation of all political parties for smooth conduct of the budget session of the Assembly beginning from Monday.
Chairing an all-party meeting on Sunday, Mallik spoke to the leaders of major parties including BJD, BJP and Congress. Since the government will present the interim budget during the session, she sought cooperation of all MLAs.
Among others, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Niranjan Pujari, government’s chief whip Prashant Muduli, Opposition’s chief whip Mohan Majhi, senior Congress MLA Narasingh Mishra and BJD legislator Pranab Prakash Das attended the meeting.
Finance Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha will present the state’s interim budget in the Assembly on February 8. This will be the last session of the 16th Assembly as the state will go for elections for a new government soon after the budget session.
