Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Monday approved allotment of 10.046 acres in Chandaka Industrial Estate, Bhubaneswar, to the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bhubaneswar.
It also put a stamp on the allotment of additional land of 2 acres adjacent to the NIFT
campus free of cost and payment of Rs 4,58,25,353 to IDCO towards the land cost including land rent and land cess, IMC and processing.
A grant of Rs 58.65 crore has been also sanctioned towards the infrastructure cost of the institute.
The cabinet also gave the nod to allotment of 618.665-acre government land to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar, free of cost.
The land in Aragul mouza of Jatni and other areas will be provided free of premium and incidental charges subject to payment of Rs 100 per acre per annum towards annual ground rent and cess at 75% of annual ground rent, according to a release issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
The Chief Minister also gave go-ahead to Odisha non-government colleges, junior colleges and higher Secondary schools grant-in order 2022.
Notably, the meeting held under his chairmanship approved 12 major proposals relating to the departments of handloom, textiles and handicrafts, general administration and public grievances, higher education, panchayati raj and drinking water and revenue and disaster management.
