Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal has sanctioned ex-gratia of Rs 15 lakh each to the legally approved heirs of the two polling personnel who died on duty during the recent Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
The deceased polling personnel have been identified as Eso Majhi (Gajapati) and Manoranjan Sahu (Jajpur). They were deployed at Booth No. 204 in Gajapati district and Booth No. 157 in Jajpur district respectively.
Dhal has directed the Collectors of Gajapati and Jajpur districts to extend sympathies to the bereaved families and hand over the ex-gratia amounts as per rules.
