Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has introduced a new dress code for the employees of the Nursing Service Cadre in the state.
The Health and Family Welfare Department has issued a notification in connection with the modified dress code for nursing service employees, official sources said.effected a change in the dress code for the employees of Odisha Nursing Service cadre.
The notification said the decision to change the dress code was taken in-principle after careful consideration of the proposal of Odisha Nursing Employees’ Association. The change of dress code will not have substantial financial implication on the state government, it said.
As per the notification, the colour of the dress for the Nursing Officer/Senior Nursing Officer will be light lavender. Those working in the ICU/OT/Labour Room will wear ‘Scrub Suit’ while females in General wards will be in Saree/Salwar & Kameez (3/4th sleeve top) while males will wear shirt and a deep navy blue colour formal trousers.
Similarly, the dress colour for Assistant Nursing Superintendent (ANS) will be Cyan Blue. Like Nursing officers, ANS working in the ICU/OT/Labour room will wear ‘Scrub Suit’ while the dress code for female Assistant Nursing Superintendents will be saree/salwar and kameez while males are going to wear a shirt accompanied by a deep navy blue colour formal trousers.
Likewise, the dress colour of the outfit of Deputy Nursing Superintendents (DNS)/Nursing Superintendents (NS) will be white. They are also required to wear a ‘Scrub Suit’ for ICU/OT/Labour Room. Females in the general wards will be seen in sarees while males will be wearing shirts along with deep navy blue colour formal trousers
It said the collar neck portion of the white apron will be bordered in Deep Purple Sambalpuri for all. These apart, there will be white half sleeve aprons for all Nursing Officers and Senior Nursing Officers in General Wards.
A full sleeve apron will be provided for all ANS/DNS/NS in General Wards while all officers of the cadre irrespective of the rank will have their name and designation inscribed on their uniform.
For Nursing Superintendents, dark brown colour badge with the hospital logo, name and designation has been prescribed.
Display of the name and designation of the officer has been prescribed for easy identification.
