Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday extended quarantine period for all returnees to 28 days.
“Since scientific evidence observed so far suggest that COVID-19 incubation period could be as high as 28 days and not 14 days, it has been decided that all natives returning to Odisha will undergo 21 days of institutional quarantine and spend another seven days in home quarantine,” said government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi.

He further said that the inmates at COVID-19 quarantine centres can undertake various tasks like gardening, paint works for which they will be paid wages by the government. “Ten days’ work will be provided during the 21-day stay in quarantine,” he added.
