Bhubaneswar: Protesting the abolition of Odisha State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) by the Central Government, the SAT Bar Association launched a one-day cease-work agitation on Friday.
The agitating lawyers wore black badges and sat in front of Khurda District and Sessions Judge Court. They have also demanded hearing of all the cases pending with SAT.
Lawyers of lower courts, Bhubaneswar Bar Association members and other lawyers’ associations have also extended support to the agitation.
On August 7, the Orissa High Court had rejected a plea SAT Bar Association seeking a stay on the abolition of the tribunal.
