Nabarangpur: A teacher of a government residential school in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with girl students.
He has been identified as Amar Kumar Nath, Chemistry teacher of Ekalavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in Hirli area.
Nath was arrested after a probe was conducted into the allegations by the girls who accused him of misbehaving with them and making obscene gestures. The girl students had also submitted a written complaint to Principal Rajendra Prasad Mahapatra on May 8.
The Principal ordered a probe and Nath was asked to resign on May 11. The District administration also formed a task force comprising District Welfare Officer, members of child welfare committee (CWC), and DSWO.
The girls had also complained to the DSP and basing on all the allegations an investigation was conducted and he was arrested after the probe report found the allegations to be true.
