Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will soon launch a scheme, Gajabandhu Yojana, for the safety of elephants.
Chief Wildlife Warden Ajay Kumar Mahapatra told the media on Saturday that people will be roped in under the new scheme. Anyone giving information about the presence of elephants will be given cash rewards, he said.
“Besides, CCTVs will be installed along the elephant corridors in the state and speed breakers will be installed in 65 accident-prone areas identified by the Forest department,” Mahapatra said.
