Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Sachin Behera has set a new Guinness Book of World Records, clocking 204 knee-strikes in three minutes with 5-kg ankle weight, breaking the record of Pakistani boxer Muhammad Rashid.
Sachin (21), who is from Lakra village in Nuapada district, set the new record at an event on the premises of Buddha Temple at Unit-9 in Odisha’s capital on Sunday.
The earlier record was held by Rashid, who had clocked 178 knee-strikes in three minutes with 5-kg ankle weight on June 21, 2020.
Sachin is currently interning at Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital in physiotherapy in Bhubaneswar.
In 2019, he had set a Guinness record of 137 knee-strikes in a minute.
He is also a sprinter and is keen to run the 100 metres in the Olympics.
