Mumbai: The makers of ‘Chello Show’, India’s official entry to Oscars 2023, have devised a creative marketing strategy to raise awareness about their film.
It will be screened in 95 theatre screens across India on Thursday night’s last show, with tickets being priced at Rs 95.
‘Chello Show’ (Last Film Show) is the story of a nine year-old-boy Samay who spends an entire summer watching cinema in a makeshift theatre. Mesmerized by the world of filmmaking, he decides to pursue his ambition of becoming a filmmaker.
“Due to the immense excitement among the fans for our film we thought of releasing the film on the last show of Thursday. It is exhilarating for us to release the film at 95 theatres at a price of Rs 95 on the occasion of its selection for the 95th Oscar awards,” said director Pan Nalin.
The film is based on real life experience of Nalin, who had a hard time pursuing his dream of making films. Set in Gujarat’s Saurashtra, the film features six local boys from the region.
‘Chello Show’ is produced by Jugaad Motion Picture, Nalin’s Monsoon Films and Marc Duale’s Stranger 88 in co-production with Virginie Lacombe’s Virginie Films and Eric Dupont’s Incognito films.
The film is distributed across India by Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films and PVR cinemas.
