New Delhi: South superstar Rajinikanth and Salman Khan are most likely set to collaborate for director Atlee’s next big untitled project. Reports suggest Sun Pictures will be producing the film. Atlee has been in touch with Salman Khan for the last two years and is confident of getting both him and Rajinikanth on board for his upcoming project. The meeting is said to take place next month. The makers want the film to start the project by the end of this year. Salman Khan will take up the film after wrapping up Sikandar, while Rajinikanth will complete Coolie first, News18 reported.

Salman Khan was last seen in the action thriller film Tiger 3. The movie was helmed by Maneesh Sharma and backed by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The film is the fifth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe and features Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi as the main leads.

Rajinikanth was last seen in Lal Salaam. His daughter, Aishwarya Rajnikanth had directed the sports action film. Subaskaran Allirajah produced it under Lyca Productions. The film starred Rajinikanth in an extended cameo role, alongside Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth as the main protagonists. He also has Vettaiyan in his pipeline. This Tamil-language action drama film is written and directed by TJ Gnanavel. The upcoming film features an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan. Vettaiyan is scheduled to be released worldwide on October 10, 2024, in theatres, the report added.
