OTDC And OYO Sign MoU To Accommodate Guests During Upcoming Hockey Men’s World Cup

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OYO, an online travel agent (OTA) and room aggregator, for the upcoming Hockey Men’s World Cup to be held at Kalinga Stadium here.

 

According to the agreement, OYO will increase the inventory of rooms and strive to take on board hotels and home stays in Odisha to accommodate the enhanced demand for accommodation during the World Cup. OTDC will promote the accommodation services offered by OYO among its guests through website integration and other means.

“OYO is a trusted brand and is doing quite well both nationally and internationally. With Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 just a few months away, we expect to have a massive footfall,” said Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Tourism and Sports & Youth Services Department, Vishal Dev.

OYO will also set up a help desk at transit places such as the airport, railway station and bus terminals, five days prior and during the Hockey World Cup. It will also set up a dedicated phone line to create and manage the bookings.

OTDC plans to enter into similar arrangements with other interested OTAs and carry forward this arrangement beyond the World Cup. This agreement will help enhance guest experience.”
