Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Raghubar Das and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will be present at Rourkela and Berhampur stations respectively on Sunday when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off six new Vande Bharat Express trains including two running through the state.
The Vande Bharat trains that will be flagged off by the Prime Minister include Tatanagar–Patna, Varanasi–Deoghar, Howrah-Dhanbad–Gaya, Howrah-Dumka–Bhagalpur, Howrah-Tatanagar-Rourkela and Tatanagar-Brahmapur.
The Chief Minister will also board Vande Bharat Express from Brahmapur to Bhubaneswar after attending the function.
Several Ministers, MPs, MLAs and eminent personalities will also attend the event at Balugaon, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jakhapura, Harichandanpur, Kendujhargarh, Bansapani and Chaibasa stations.
Berhampur-Tata Vande Bharat Express via Kendujhargarh on its inaugural run from Brahmapur will leave at 1100hrs. However, the regular service of the train will commence from Tatanagar from September 18 and from Brahmapur from September 19.
On the regular run, this train will leave Brahmapur at 0515hrs towards Tata and in the return direction, it will leave Tata at 1450hrs towards Brahmapur.
The six Vande Bharat Express trains will cover vital routes connecting key cities in Jharkhand and neighboring states.
The Prime Minister will lead another round of railway modernization projects on September 16 from Ahmedabad. During this event, PM Modi will inaugurate additional Vande Bharat trains across the country including Visakhapatnam-Raipur-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express which will run through Odisha.
