Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced holiday for all schools and colleges in Bhubaneswar on September 17 when Prime Minister will launch Subhadra Yojana.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the schools and colleges in the area under the Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation (BMC) will remain closed due to the visit of the Prime Minister.
Government offices and magisterial courts within the BMC area in Bhubaneswar will also remain closed till 2 pm.
It may be noted that Modi is scheduled to visit the capital city on his birthday on September 17 to launch the Subhadra Yojana, the state government’s flagship scheme for the welfare of women.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said all women, who have already applied or registered for the Subhadra Yojana on or before September 15, will get the first instalment after the launch of the ambitious scheme by the Prime Minister.
Stating that over 50 lakh women have already applied for the scheme so far, she said all these women will get their first instalment of Rs 5,000 on September 17.
