Bhubaneswar: Dr Sudeep Satpathy (Physiology and Sports Medicine), Professor of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), KIIT University, has been named doctor of the Tokyo-bound Indian men’s Olympic hockey squad.
Dr Satpathy, who holds a Diploma in Sports Medicine from International Olympic Committee (IOC), has a fair bit of experience in the field of sports.
He accompanied the Indian senior men’s hockey team on its tour of Argentina for training and practice matches from April 1-15, was a Doping Control Officer in the Medical Delegation for AFC Champions League-West 2020, as well as Sports Medicine doctor for the 2016 Rio Olympics and Premier Badminton league.
He was also team doctor of Sachin Tendulkar co-owned Kerala Blasters FC in the 2015 Indian Super League.
