Mumbai: There is no relief yet for Aryan Khan, who is among eight arrested in the cruise ship rave party drugs case. Shah Rukh Khan’s son and the others, was on Thursday sent to 14-day judicial custody.
Aryan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde moved an interim bail petition, which is likely to be heard on Friday.
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had arrested Aryan, Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha and five others – including Manish Rajgaria and Abhin Sahoo of Odisha’s Rourkela.
When Aryan, Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun – whose remand period ended on Thursday — as well as others arrested later were produced in Esplanade Court, NCB sought extension of custody of the eight till October 11.
The NCB argued that custody of the accused was required to confront Aachit Kimar, whose name was disclosed by Aryan and Arbaaz.
Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde, on the other hand, said that no more custody was required as they had already been questioned.
“They were partying in their rooms or in their groups. If in some rooms of Taj Mahal hotel, drugs are found, everyone in the hotel cannot be grinded into the conspiracy,” Maneshinde said.
The court rejected NCB’s plea for further custody saying that the agency’s remand report was vague.
The hearing went on for several hours as the court heard all parties.
