Know When & Why Two Rourkela Youths Were Arrested In Mumbai Cruise Drug Case

Mumbai: Manish Rajgaria and Abhin Sahoo of Odisha’s Rourkela were among the eight persons arrested during a second operation on the Cordelia cruise ship on October 4, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has revealed.

“Manish was in possession of Hydroponic Weed, which is a kind of charas,” said an NCB official, adding that he was invited to the cruise ship as a guest.

He is a resident of Civil Township area in Rourkela.

His father had earlier told media that the NCB had seized ganja in a cigarette from Manish and it was for self-consumption.

Abhin, who also sailed in the cruise ship, was arrested on drug consumption charges, the official added.

Abhin’s father had said that he had gone to attend his friend’s bachelor party on the cruise ship.

Manish reportedly runs his own trading farm while his father is a director of a leading sponge iron manufacturing company. Similarly, Abhin is a young businessman and son of a reputed jewellery shop owner of the city.

The NCB has so far arrested 16 persons, including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan, for alleged possession and sale of drugs during raids on the cruise ship.

Banned narcotic substances, including 13 grams of cocaine, five grams of MD, 21 grams of charas and 22 pills of Ecstasy, worth Rs 1.33 lakh were seized during the raid. A large quantity of Mephedrone (Meow Meow) drug was also recovered.
