Mumbai: After the tremendous success of his recent multi-starrer cop universe film ‘Singham Again’, ace director Rohit Shetty is mulling making Chulbul vs Singham.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Rohit shared that it was Salman’s idea of incorporating Chulbul’s cameo in ‘Singham Again’.
“It was Salman sir’s vision that Chulbul and Singham should come together once. That’s why it happened. And then it’s a long journey. We have to plan things and go ahead with all the characters and see where it is going. It was being planned for a long time,” said Rohit.
Asked if he has any plans of bringing together Salman and Ajay , the director replied, “It just has been a week since the film has released. Give me some time. I have announced a film with the two characters, but it will take time.”
“Chulbul Panday vs Singham film has to be a standalone film. It cannot be a universe,” he added.
Rohit and Ajay already have a lineup of future projects like ‘Golmaal 5’, sequels of ‘Dhamaal’, ‘Shaitaan’, ‘Simmba’, ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Drishyam’ and many others.
The actor-director duo said they can do a comedy film starring Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar.
Asked if he and Akshay ever discussed a comedy film with Rohit, starring both of them, Ajay said, “I have never thought of that but it’s not a bad idea. And now that you have said it, we will talk about it.”
“Actually yeah. It’s a great idea,” added Rohit.
Talking about ‘Singham Again’, Rohit said: “Everyone came because it is Singham. And from this film, they will branch out – the characters. Technically, it was their intro. So when you see the film, it’s like the squad has come up and Singham is the main boss of the squad and these are the officers, then the journey will go ahead. Basically, it is an introduction to what is coming in future.”
Is ‘Singham Again’ similar to ‘Avengers’, where all the characters came together and then they had their individual films?
“I can’t compare with them (Avengers). You can maybe call that, but If I do, I will be trolled,” answered Rohit.
Speaking about his next venture, Rohit shared, “We will make Golmaal 5 soon. I think before any cop film for sure. Golmaal will be next. Golmaal is like a detox. I mean, you have made such a big film, and now you want to do something and the whole atmosphere is also lighter and happier when you are making Golmaal. After films like Singham Again, I look forward to go to the other world. I have done enough serious actions, too much special effects, and an entire team coming from abroad. Golmaal is like a breather.”
