Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday announced a monthly honorarium of Rs 30,000 for all the Padma award recipients from the state.
As per official sources, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi decided that honorarium of Rs 30,000 per month will be given to all Padma awardees from the state.
As many as 55 Padma awardees, who are alive now, will receive the honorarium, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
The state government will bear an expenditure of Rs two crore per annum towards payment of this honorarium.
Notably, the previous BJD Government had announced a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000 for the Padma awardees in March, this year.
