Kochi: A 34-year old man, who had been ‘missing’ for a year-and-a-half, has been found.
So why did Noushad leave home?
Well, he wanted to stay away from his wife as he was “scared” of her, reported PTI.
According to police, Noushad – who went missing from his rented home in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district in November 2021 — was traced in a village near Thodupuzha in Idukki district.
Significantly, Noushad was found a day after his 25-year old wife Afsana was arrested in connection with his missing case.
She had given a statement to police that Noushad was killed and his body had been buried.
After ‘disappearing’, Noushad had been staying as a labourer at a farm in Thommankuthu.
He told reporters that he left home “as I was scared of my wife,” alleging that he was thrashed by people his wife used to call.
Police arrested Afsana from Koodal in Pathanamthitta on Thursday after she gave misleading statements to the police.
Based on her statement that Noushad had buried her husband after he was killed, police had taken Afsana to some certain places to recover his body.
However, earlier this week, she was summoned to the Koodal police station where she claimed that she had seen Noushad recently.
Police had launched an investigation after Noushad’s father filed a complaint.
