Mumbai: A 47-year-old professor was arrested for sexually harassing a female doctor on a Delhi-Mumbai flight, police said on Friday.
The incident took place on Wednesday, he said.
The 24-year-old victim and the accused were seated next to each other on the plane, which took off from Delhi at 5.30 am on Wednesday, PTI reported.
“In her complaint, the woman doctor said that the accused touched her inappropriately some time before the flight was about to land at Mumbai airport,” the police official said.
Following an argument between the two passengers, the victim informed crew members about her experience. Once the flight landed at Mumbai, they went to Sahar police station, where the professor was arrested, the police official informed.
The accused, who was produced in a court, was granted bail. An investigation into the incident is underway.
