Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s ex-wives, Aarti Bajaj and KalkiKoechlin, have come out in his support over the #MeToo allegations levelled against him by actress Payal Ghosh.
Anurag’s second wife and actress Kalki Koechlin took to social media to ask the filmmaker to stay strong during this difficult phase.
In her post, Kalki stated that Anurag always supported her when they were together. He has stood up for her “integrity” even after their divorce, she added.
“Dear Anurag, don’t let this social media circus get to you, you have fought for the freedom of women in your scripts, you’ve defended their integrity in your professional space as well as in your personal life. I have been witness to it, in the personal and professional space you have always seen me as your equal, you have stood up for my integrity even after our divorce, and you have supported me when I felt unsafe in a work environment even before we got together,” wrote Kalki in her post for Anurag.
Anurag’s first wife, Aarti Bajaj also spoke highly about the filmmaker and rubbished the allegations against him.
Addressing herself as Anurag’s ‘first wife’, Aarti in an Instagram post wrote that the #MeToo allegation against the filmmaker is the “cheapest stunt ever”.
He is a father of a girl and there’s no one more feminist and more dignified than Anurag, stated the director’s first wife.
“First wife here✋?.. You are a rockstar @anuragkashyap10. Keep empowering women as you do and the safest place you create for all of them. I see it first hand with our daughter. There is no integrity left and the world is full of losers and no brains baying for blood of anyone who has a voice,” wrote Aarti, extending her support to Anurag.
Recently, actor Payal Ghosh alleged that the filmmaker had sexually assaulted her when she went to his residence seeking work.
However, Anurag denied the charge and has even released an official statement through his lawyer stating that the allegation is baseless.
