Three arrested in Nizampur samiti member murder case

Jajpur: Police on Tuesday arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of Nizampur samiti member Kedar Das.
They were identified as Surya Narayan Swain of Rourkela, Subash Sahu and Jajati Sahu, both hailing from Paripara village under Mangalpur police limits in the Jajpur district. They were nabbed from Jajpur Road by a police team.
“All the three are contract (supari) killers. They had taken Rs 3 lakh from one Chagala, who is currently lodged in jail, for the murder. While a number of criminal cases are pending against Surya Narayan at different police stations in the district, Subash and Jajati are freshers,” Jajpur SP Charan Singh Meena told media here.
Das was allegedly murdered over political enmity on August 1 this year. His body was recovered from Budha river on August 3.
