Cuttack: Three persons including the son of a former Congress MP were killed when a car in which they were travelling fell into a canal near Telengapentha area on the outskirts of Cuttack city in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to eyewitnesses, a Jaguar car (OD-14-C-0007) moving at a high speed skidded off the road and fell into the canal on National Highway-16.
The incident took place at about 3 am.
Following information, the Sadar Police rushed to the spot and brought three bodies out of the car with the help of the Fire Service personnel and rushed them to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where the doctors pronounced them as brought dead.
Among the three deceased, one of them has been identified as Ankur Pradhan, son of former Sambalpur MP Amar Pradhan and his friend Gautam Das.
Efforts are on to identify the other deceased, police said.
