Bhubaneswar: Irate locals blocked Sainik School-Kalinga Hospital road in Odisha capital after three persons were injured in a road accident on Wednesday morning.
According to sources, a van belonging to the 7th Battalion at Jayadav Vihar reportedly hit a motorcycle and then a trolley rickshaw on this stretch around 7.30 am. While the driver and the pillion rider lost consciousness after falling off the bike, the trolley rickshaw puller sustained multiple injuries in this hit-and-run case.
The van driver fled the spot soon after the mishap, sources added.
Tension ran high at the spot following the accident and locals later staged a road blockade, disrupting vehicular traffic for about an hour.
On being informed, Nayapalli police rushed to the spot and admitted the three injured persons to Capital Hospital for treatment.
Efforts are on to nab the absconding driver, police said.
