Thunderstorm, Heavy Rainfall Warning: Odisha Govt Alerts Collectors

Bhubaneswar: Following thunderstorm and heavy rainfall warning by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Odisha government on Monday directed district collectors to remain on alert.

Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena has asked the collectors to closely monitor the situation and keep the administration in readiness to meet any eventuality. He has also asked them to inform the emergency operation centre about the situation at regular intervals.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Balasore and Bhadrak.

September 8
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapdra, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Angul,  Dhenkanal,  Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Khurda and Boudh.

September 9
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Kandhamal.

Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the district of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.

September 10
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Bargarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada and Gajapati.

September 11
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sundargarh and Gajapati.

Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Gajapati.
