Bhubaneswar: At least seven districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities, are likely to encounter thunderstorm, lightning and rain accompanied by gusty surface wing on Monday afternoon.
In a nowcast warning issued at 3 pm, the Inda Meteorological Department (IMD) said light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rain may affect Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Khurda, Cuttack, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts within next three hours.
Issuing an orange alert for these districts, the weather agency said Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities are also likely to be affected.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
