Bhubaneswar: Naveen Patnaik will take oath as Chief Minister for the sixth term on June 9 with the blessings of the people of Odisha, BJD leader and 5T chairman V K Pandian told a gathering at Bhawanipatna on Monday.

“The BJP’s double-engine government has run out of fuel in the neighbouring Chhattisgarh, where bomb blasts and gunfires are being heard. No amount of sloganeering will change the outcome of the elections in Odisha. The state will see the CM take oath again on June 9. The swearing-in ceremony will take place between 11.30 am to 1.30 pm on June 9,” he asserted.

Pandian said that people of the state have reposed faith in BJD time and again as the party has never failed them. “This is Naveen engine guarantee, which has ensured peace along with development in the state,” he said.

He also exhorted people to strengthen the hands of Naveen to ensure that none of the welfare schemes, including Mission Shakti, Mamata Yojana, Madhubabu Pension Yojna, Biju Swasthya Yojana, KALIA, LAccMI and 5T schools, are suspended. “The BJP has decided to stop these schemes after June 1o. They cannot dare to do it. This support of yours is giving the opposition sleepless nights,” he added.

He also questioned as to why the opposition has not been able to name a CM candidate in the last 24 years.

Pandian also asked the gathered about their experience after inauguration of Srimandir Prikrama Prakalpa and Samalei projects. “The persons who has the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the people of the state can only initiate such development works,” he said.

The 5T chairman’s remarks are being seen as a direct counter to Narendra Modi’s assertion that June 4 will be the expiry date of BJD government and a BJP CM will take oath in Bhubaneswar on June 10, during his election rallies in Berhampur and Nabarangpur earlier in the day. He also mentioned about how Chhattisgarh is making steady progress under the BJP government compared to Odisha. He also assured inclusive development of Jagannath Temple in Puri. ” Like Kashi Viswanath corridor and Ayodhya Ram Temple, Modi will make Jagannath Shrine ‘Bhavya,” he said.
