Bhubaneswar: The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) on Saturday suspended ‘Mo Bus’ service on route No-8 after a vehicle was stranded in floodwaters near the railway underpass at Sitaram Chhak in Jatni.
Eleven buses from Master Canteen to Jatani were plying on this route.
Earlier in the day, a video of locals helping passengers to get out of the submerged bus went viral. All passengers aboard the bus were rescued safely, sources said.
The road in front of Iskcon temple in Nayapalli, Bomikhal, Acharya Vihar and Rasulgarh also get waterlogged within a few hours of rain.

Notably, the Met Office has issued orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) at isolated places in Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Malkangiri, Boudh and Koraput till 8.30 am on Sundy and warned of waterlogging in low lying areas during this period.
