Bhubaneswar: A website dedicated to heritage literature of Odia language www.recite.world was launched by Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal here on the occasion of Niladri Bije on Friday.
Dedicating the website to the public, Prof Ganeshi Lal said Odia language is lively, pleasant and witty. Through this website the young generation will be benefitted, he added.
Attending as speaker, Mo School Abhijan Chairman Sushmita Bagchi said, “Odisha people are now staying in the different parts of world. Through audio books, Odia language and literature can reach a large number of people across the globe. Listening to Odia books, their pronunciations and writing style will also improve.”
ReciteWorld is a programme launched by Udaygiri Foundation Trust.
“www.recite.world is a web/mobile application where our past and present literary works will be made available to the public free of cost for them to easily access anytime anywhere,” said Udaygiri Foundation Chairman and RecciteWorld Programme Lead JP Jagdev.
“We will make the contents available in dramatised audio book format along with showing the listener original texts. The new-age users then can familiarise themselves with both the written texts and their proper pronunciations,” he added.
Executive Director, Eastern Media Ltd, Tanaya Patnaik also attended the virtual programme.
In the first phase, the foundation has chosen 50 short stories from noted writers like Fakir Mohan Senapati, Godabarisha Mahapatra, Laxmikanta Mahapatra, Bhagabati Charana Panigrahi, Surendra Mohanty and Akhila Mohana Pattnaik.
