Ganjam: Four miscreants allegedly attacked a woman with blades at Mathura village under Polsara block in Ganjam district on Sunday.
The victim identified as Gouri Das was attacked after she failed to repay a loan amount borrowed from one Hari Patra of the same village. Patra reportedly had asked her to return the amount immediately and this led to an argument between the two.
The victim alleged that Patra along with three others later attacked her with blades in an attempt to kill her.
According to Polasara inspector-in-charge (IIC) Tapaswini Kanhar,the woman had borrowed money from more than 100 persons with a commitment to return the same. “The matter is under investigation and efforts are underway to nab the accused, who managed to flee the spot after committing the crime,” the IIC added.
