Balasore: A woman sustained critical injuries after being attacked by a wild bear in Sajanagarh Teenikonia forest of Balasore district on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Fula Patra.
She had gone to the forest to pluck flowers when the animal suddenly appeared and pounced on her.
Hearing her scream, some villagers rushed to the spot following which the animal fled.
Fula was admitted to a local hospital for treatment, reports said.
