Balangir: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested Balangir Civil Supplies Officer (CSO) Ranjan Seth on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to reports, Seth had allegedly amassed properties worth Rs 1.21 crore.
Earlier on August 5, the anti-corruption officials had conducted simultaneous raids on Seth’s official residence at Balangir Officer’s Colony, that of his in-laws’ houses in Bargarh and an apartment in Bhubaneswar.
In a separate incident, Public Works Department Junior Engineer Dillip Sahu was arrested by a vigilance team for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe to the tune of Rs 15, 000 from a contractor at Padampur in Bargarh district for construction of a culvert at Diptipur village in the district.
