Bhubaneswar: A man from Bhubaneswar has approached the police to help him get back his wife who ‘fled’ the day after their marriage.
According to police sources, Balaram Sahu of Bhratpur has filed a complaint stating that he had married a woman of Govindpur in Pipili as per Hindu rituals and returned to his house with his wife on May 12. The same night he found his wife in nude condition engaged in video-call with her brother-in-law. When he reprimanded her, she begged apology and promised not to do so in future.
Next morning, Balaram along with his wife went to a temple in Bharatpur to offer puja. On the way, some miscreants beat him up and his wife went away with them. On returning home, Balaram found all the jewellery and Rs 1.5 lakh missing from the house, he said in the complaint. He also stated that he suspected that his wife’s brother-in-law was involved in the matter.
The sources said police have registered a case and contacted the family of Balaram’s wife over phone. Details of the matter would be known after talking to them, they added.
