Bhubaneswar: Parliamentarians, envoys and corporate leaders from several countries in the Odisha capital to attend the Youth 20 Consultations being held under the aegis of G20.
Former US Senator from North Carolina Robert Pittenger, Foreign Policy Advisor, Bundestag (German Federal Parliament) Dr Andreas Jahn, UK Member of Parliament Virendra Sharma and Vanessa Adrianne Espinosa Aguirre, Cultural & Education Affairs, Mexico will be among the lawmakers from 20 nations who will attend the Y20 at KIIT DU campus on April 14 and 15.
Ukrainian parliamentarian Yulia Klymenko, along with Polish MP Dr Krzysztof Gawkowski, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Trade & Industry Hindolo Tennison Sandy, Swiss MP Niklaus Samuel Gugger and Armenian MP Armenia Tsovinar Vardanyan are also scheduled to address the conclave.
The inaugural session will be addressed by India’s nion Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh.
Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Environment, Forest & Climate Change Ashwini Kumar Choubey and Odisha’s Minister of State for Home, Sports & Youth Services Tushar Kanti Behera will also attend the opening session.
More than 10,000 youths from India and G20 nations will raise awareness on important global issues, facilitate exchange of ideas, innovative thoughts, argue established models, negotiate and reach a consensus during the Y20 Consultation meet.
The deliberations at the meeting will be taken up at the G20 meeting to be held later this year under the Chairmanship of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
KIIT DU has been entrusted by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to host the Y20 Consultations themed ‘Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills’ and G20 Janbhagidari events themed ‘Making Tech-enabled Learning more Inclusive, Qualitative and Collaborative’ under the overall framework of the G20.
“The Consultation will motivate the youth to provide valuable insights on global challenges as well as play a significant role in transforming the trends of global order,” said KIIT and KISS Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta.
Besides the policymakers, heads from well-known tech companies will also address the two-day meeting. They include Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp CEO Ravi Kumar and Senior Director of Oracle Corporation, San Francisco Sambit Nanda.
The president of George Washington University Prof. Mark S Wrighton, Director of Artificial Intelligence and Aerospace Lab, Toronto Metropolitan University Dr Krishna Dev Kumar and Sr Vice-President and Global Head – Delivery & Operation at Tech Mahindra (Hyderabad) Basanta Kumar Mishra will share their views as well.
