Balasore: Remuna Police here on Tuesday arrested a youth for allegedly spreading misinformation about COVID-19 lockdown on social media.
The arrested, identified as Siva Sankar Parida (26), has been booked under Sections 188, 182, 290, 271 and 505 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to sources, he had posted about shop opening timings during the lockdown on his Facebook account with a photograph of the district collector. On inquiry, the information was found to be false.
