Bhubaneswar: Actor-politician Anubhav Mohanty has appealed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to provide financial aid to the workers of Odisha Motions Pictures Technicians and Workers Association (OMPTWA) to tide over their hardships during the COVID-19 lockdown.
In a letter to the CM, the Kendrapara MP said that around 700 OMPTWA workers were unable to take care of the basic needs of their families. He requested the CM to provide ex gratia to them in the same manner as for the unorganised workers in other sectors.
He urged the CM to disburse funds from Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) to support the workers and artists in the film industry as well as TV, theatre and jatra organisations.
