Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday called two doctors working at the SUM COVID Hospital here to express his appreciation for their hard work.
Naveen called Dr Iswar Behera and Dr Pradipta Sekhar Patra and congratulated them and the entire team in the hospital for their dedicated service to the people at this critical juncture.
Dr Behera is a critical care expert while Dr Patra is an immunologist.
The SUM COVID Hospital was set up as the largest such facility in Odisha by the state government soon after the impact of the coronavirus was felt in the state.
Three other hospitals were set up soon after under SUM Hospital’s stewardship at Kendrapara, Talcher and Chandpur. The four hospitals have a total bed strength of over 2200. Besides, it operated two COVID Care Centres at Jamujhari on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar and Jatni.
5-T secretary VK Pandian also called the two doctors to thank them for their dedicated service to the people. The doctors also thanked the government for taking timely steps to combat the pandemic and monitoring the COVID treatment efficiently.
