New Delhi: Six youngsters from Delhi and their driver, travelling to Kullu-Manali in three vehicles, were detained by police after they stopped in the middle of Atal Tunnel in Rohtang and danced to loud music.
Their utterly irresponsible and unacceptable behaviour disrupted traffic movement and posed a threat to other travellers, police said.
A case was registered against them after Kullu police received several complaints and video clips showing the tourists dancing in the Atal Tunnel. All three vehicles have been impounded.
“Tourists caused nuisance inside the tunnel which was a clear violation of traffic rules. This will not be tolerated. Such activities in tunnel pose threat to the passengers. We are still investigating the matter,” The Times of India quoted Kullu SP Gaurav Singh as saying.
Three of the youths are teenagers, including a 12-year-old, while the driver is 37.
