Chhatrapur (Odisha): In its continued efforts to help build a green, pollution-free and sustainable future, Gopalpur Ports Limited (GPL) launched a massive tree plantation drive on the occasion of World Environment Day 2023.
With the focus being on the United Nations (UN) theme of ‘Solutions to Plastic Pollution’, a special programme was organised at the port premises in Arjeepali, chaired by CEO Gopalpur Port, and in the presence of HODs of various departments and employees.
Following a successful tree plantation drive organised by the Environment department, it was decided to take care of each sapling so that it survives and has a healthy growth.
It was also decided to review plantations from time to time within the Port area as well as the upcoming plantation drive.
Various other green initiatives towards environmental conservation and protection were undertaken by different departments.
“GPL is committed to the conservation and protection of our pristine environment. A green review has been taken about the Port operation along with Environment protection with regard to the Eco-System Conservation,” said Janardhana Rao, CEO, Gopalpur Port.
