Students Block Road To Protest Against Stoppage Of Bus Service In Keonjhar

Anandpur: Hundreds of students of different schools staged a blockade at Kasia village under Serenda panchayat in Keonjhar district on Saturday protesting against the stoppage of bus service by Mesco Steel.

Holding placards in hands and raising slogans, the students demanded immediate restoration of the bus service that has been stopped by Mesco Steel in the recent past.

“Mesco Steel authorities had engaged buses for transportation of more 300 students to different schools in the district. It is unfortunate that the company has shut the bus service depriving several students from attending their schools since last month”, an agitating student said.

The parents and family members of the striking students have also threatened to join the protest in the days to come if their demand is not sorted out by Mesco Steel at the earliest.
