Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm coupled with lightning and rain is likely to lash the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Saturday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
Issuing yellow warning about the possible weather condition, the IMD stated that light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain with surface wind speed 30-40 kmph is likely to affect some parts of Cuttack and Khurda districts within nest three hours.
In its nowcast warning issued at 2.30 pm, the weather agency also sounded warning with yellow alert for the state capital of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack city.
People are advised by the MeT agency to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
