1.35 Lakh Cases Registered In Odisha Police Stations In 8 Months: CM Informs Assembly

Bhubaneswar: Altogether 1,35,074 cases have been registered at various police stations across Odisha in the last eight months, the state Assembly was informed on Monday.

This information was shared by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while answering a question by Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati in the House.

Majhi, who holds Home portfolio, said the law and order situation in the state remains largely under control. The government is committed to maintaining law and order and takes immediate action whenever any disturbance arises.

The Chief Minister stated that police personnel in the state intervene swiftly and take prompt legal action against the offenders as per the law.

The CM stated that Ganjam recorded the registration of highest number of cases during this period.

The information comes at a time when opposition BJD and Congress members raised the issue of alleged rise of crime and deterioration in law and order in the state.
