Bhubaneswar: The members of Mission Shakti have prepared and served cooked food to 1.5 crore people during the lockdown period.
According to Mission Shakti Director Sujata Pandian, the women volunteers have distributed ration materials to 80 lakh families. Besides, they have produced more than 40,00 face masks to be supplied to the people.
Similarly, 8,000 women members of the Mission Shakti are engaged to sell grocery and ration while following the guidelines of the lockdown announced by the Government.
Pandian said the State Government has sanctioned Rs 145 crore loan to SHGs besides the Covid loan to the groups to carry out various economic activities, particularly in rural areas.
At present, there are 70 lakh members of Mission Shakti in Odisha.
