Balangir: One person died and 11 others were injured, three of them critically, as a pickup van, in which they were travelling overturned in Patnagah area of Odisha’s Balangir district on Wednesday.

According to sources, the van carrying a Sankirtan team, comprising mostly women, was on its way to Bandhanwadi from Patnagarh Rampur when the driver lost control over its wheels at Gandapada.
The van skidded off the road and overturned along the roadside, causing injuries to the occupants. The injured were rushed to the Patnagarh hospital first.
Later four of them were shifted to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital at Balangir in view of their critical condition. While one succumbed to the injuries, the other three are undergoing treatment in critical condition.
